Royal Nectar Review - The Buzz About Bee Venom

 Moisturising Face Lift 50ml - $60*
Original Face Mask 50ml - $75*

The moment I heard about products that contained Bee Venom, I knew I had to get my hands on some. When I found out that this Nelson Honey Royal Nectar was the Bee Venom of choice for Kate Middleton, Camilla and various celebrities, I knew this was the one I needed to try. I've been so impressed by these two products that I'm calling them my find of 2012!

They are 100% natural and are made right here in New Zealand, down in Nelson (where the best bees come from, I've been told). The Bee Venom is harvested using perfectly safe methods so the bee doesn't die (it doesn't release its barb, only the venom). You can read more about it here if you're interested.
The Bee Venom is then blended with Manuka Honey, which we all know has amazing anti-bacterial, soothing and healing properties on the skin. This blend is called 'Nectar Ease' and has the ability to work wonders on your skin. It isn't called the natural alternative to Botox for nothing! The Bee Venom stimulates your facial muscles to tighten and firm the skin, which can reduce frown and laughter lines and give your skin a more youthful appearance. It's been said to boost collagen in the skin and act as a barrier to environmental aggresors also. I found these products to be very effective on my forehead in particular, smoothing it noticeably.

I use both of these products in conjunction with one another, as I've read they work best that way. I choose to use the Face Lift in the morning as the Face Mask contains a special ingredient which I like to use at night (more on that soon).
The natural formulation of these products contains some powerful moisturisers such as:
Avocado Oil
Vitamin E Oil
Apricot Kernal Oil
Rosehip Oil
Evening Primrose Oil
Cocoa Butter

Not to mention the all-important Nectar Ease Bee Venom blend and other oils and extracts, this formula was made to make a difference to your skin.
I haven't had one dry spot since using it, nor has it felt overwhelmed with oil either.

You get provided with a little spatula to scoop out a small amount of product with. I love that I don't need to put my fingers in there (although I always use clean hands, you still don't know what bacteria remain on them). I use about a pea sized amount and that is enough for my face and usually my neck and decolletage too.

The Original Face Mask is made to be used two ways. I use it sparingly every night and leave it on, but because it's actually a mask you could use a thicker layer and leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off. Both ways are fine and are indicated in the enclosed leaflet. You are provided with a spatula with this product too.

The reason I use this one at night is that it contains an ingredient called Easyliance, which is another blend of natural origin that instantly tightens the skin. I find that leaving it on overnight works better on my skin and is probably why I've noticed such a change in the look and texture of my skin.

I would recommend patch testing on your inner arm before using, but I've had absolutely no adverse reaction to these products, despite being very stimulating. You may find that it is a tiny bit tingly on the skin, but I've never noticed anything.

What you will achieve is a smoother, younger looking skin that is perfectly moisturised. No wonder all the royals and celebs are into it! And here we were thinking that Camilla had nipped off for a quick facelift before her wedding to Prince Charles. Well now we all know her secret.

I really like the boxes that these products come in, especially with a lift off lid as opposed to just a conventional box. I also think that although the jars are practical and are made of glass, a little more attention could be paid to how 'pretty' they are. I'm all about the prettiness!

Beauty Challenge #1 + Instagram!

I'm a little late to the party here, but I've finally got an iPhone (5 woop woop!) and joined Instagram. If you have Instagram too, then feel free to follow me. I'd love it!
My Instagram name is BeautybyLizy.
I've been taking loads of pictures and sharing things with you that you might not otherwise get to see on my blog, so definitely take a look.

The picture above was taken on my iPhone and is the look I created for Louise Sprinkle Of Glitter's Bedroom Beauty Challenge. It's to get everyone being a little more creative and pushing the boundaries of what makeup looks they can create and wear.

This months look is called Vivacious Vixen and I drew my inspiration from how I thought a Bond Girl would wear their makeup out on the town. Being all Vixen-like and what not. I did have bronzer and blush on as well but the Insta filter I used washed it out!
PS totally got my eyebrows done the day after!

You can click the picture below to go to Louise's blog and find more pretty girls who have done the challenge too.

Thanks Louise for getting me out of my comfort zone this week. I've worn amazing eye shadow looks to work all week and all the ladies think I have a secret second boyfriend or something!

I can't wait for next months challenge! Let's hope it's not 80's inspired!

Just to remind you all about my Beauty by Lizy Facebook Page too!
I recently held a Facebook exclusive GIVEAWAY which was amazing! If you want to see more exclusive tidbits and giveaways then you can like my page to the right

What's In My Shower??

Hey y'all. Long time no speak!
Permission to get a little crazy here today and show you inside my shower?

These are my favourite go-to shower products.

St Tropez Body Polisher
I've actually had this quite a while (tell-tale older packaging), and I'm going to be really sad when its finished because I love it so much! I only really use this one before I apply my St Tropez Bronzing Lotion because it's expensive and I like to use it as a part of the proper 3 step. It's insanely blue and smells divine! Such a treat.

Savar Luxury Face Wash*
LOVE this face wash in the shower in the morning. This small size has lasted me over half a year! I only use one pump and lather it up on my hands before applying to my face. When I first got it, I was apprehensive about using a wash as my skin has dry tendencies and I preferred creamy cleansers instead. I was happy to find out that it didn't dry my skin out at all, but left it feeling soft and thoroughly cleansed.

Savar Energising Body Wash*
This delicious body wash is a natural version of those fruity body washes most of us are addicted to. The lemon balm extract firms and wakes you up in the morning and the smooth texture feels luxurious on the skin. I love its pump top and found it helpful when taking it on holiday over Christmas as you can just screw it closed. I use about two-three pumps on a loofah and it lathers enough for my entire body. Its scent isn't so overpowering as to make it super girly and this makes it perfectly unisex. I told Chris to use it a few times and he liked it too. It's the perfect shower companion!

Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Conditioner
I've become a bit of a fan of Organix. In my previous post I talked about finishing up my moroccan oil shampoo. I managed to find the macadamia one but not the moroccan so had to settle for it. I got the conditioner as I repurchased my fave shampoo Paul Mitchell and still prefer it over any others. This conditioner does a fabulous job of moisturising and smoothing my hair, maybe a little too much sometimes. Fine hair can be weighed done very easily by products such as these so I try to just concentrate on the ends. I'm not a huge fan of the smell but Chris does and I like how it makes my hair feel. This bottle lasts months even though I use it everyday, so it's a winner.

Linden Leaves Radiant Exfoliating Wash*
I love using this exfoliator a couple of times a week. It truly makes my skin radiant and smooth and it feels amazing to use. The exfoliating bits don't scratch my skin and help to keep my chin clear from little bumps. I love the citrus/orange smell, very invigorating and I like the packaging too. Good to know how much product is left in the tube and I think it looks pretty in my shower.

Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Daily Shampoo
Yawn! Are you sick of hearing about this shampoo yet? My most repurchased item EVER. Love the smell. Love the texture. Love how it makes my hair look. Love, love, love it.

So there you have my favourite daily shower items.

Do you use any of these products?
What are your shower favourites?

Have a great day!
